“Erin, what does it take to become the best?”

I get that question a lot. Some say it’s about character. Those guys who endure every challenge, pull their weight, set an example.

Others say it’s all about the endorsements. And let me tell you, some of these guys have friends in high places – health professionals, sports teams, and even Olympians!

But the biggest fans say it's a numbers game. They point to the superstars who are out to prove they’re better than the competition, a small but elite group that puts themselves to the test – 4 rounds of it, to be exact. Testing for almost 300 banned substances and 760 contaminants to become NSF Certified for Sport®...

Everyone is spot-on with these takes. Because between the work ethic, testimonials, and stats, Thorne products are in a league of their own.

Who did you think I was talking about?

Thorne’s 2023 Supplement Draft

You’ve seen the hype all over social media.

4 Thorne partners. 16 spots. And 1 draft for the history books.

But making a roster is only the beginning. Each lineup must work together to support these Thorne partners, because there’s no “i” in team (even if there is in “winning).

So, sit back, relax, and cheer on your favorite products as they battle it out on the world’s biggest stage. And remember, no matter the outcome, you can’t go wrong when you choose Thorne.

It’s time for kickoff, so let’s get this draft breakdown underway...

Cordarrelle Patterson, Running Back – Atlanta Falcons

  1. Catalyte: Formulated with the typical ratio of electrolytes found in sweat*
  2. Pre-Workout Elite: Reduces fatigue so you can extend your training sessions*
  3. Curcumin Phytosome: Provides relief from minor muscle soreness*
  4. SynaQuell: Supports healthy brain structure and cognitive function*

Catalyte for first pick AND before Creatine!? I didn’t see that one coming. But it makes sense for Cordarrelle to prioritize hydration support in this Atlanta heat.* Fan favorite Pre-Workout Elite is a nice pickup in round two (see snake draft). This powder has ingredients that have been clinically shown to increase power output and improve reaction time,* so Cordarrelle will have high expectations for the rookie.

Thorne’s Curcumin Phytosome (aka “the most clinically studied curcumin on the market”) has quite the stat with 29-times greater absorption than ordinary curcumin. And SynaQuell is a no-brainer for anyone who plays contact sports.

Dalvin Cook, Running Back – New York Jets

  1. Creatine: Promotes enhanced muscle performance*
  2. Super EPA: Helps balance the post-workout inflammatory response*
  3. Amino Complex: Promotes the growth of lean muscle mass*
  4. Gut Health Test: Provides a personalized plan that targets your GI discomfort

There’s my predicted #1 pick! Thorne’s Creatine is the definition of hard work, promoting physical endurance and power output.* But this powder isn’t your average muscle head. Creatine plays smart by supporting cognitive function and healthy body composition.*

Rounding out the squad is Super EPA, with omega-3 fatty acids that support healthy joints and muscles,* and Amino Complex. Amino Complex and Creatine have history, complementing one another in Thorne’s Training Bundle, so I expect team chemistry here to be off the charts.

But the real story is the fact that Thorne’s Gut Health Test wasn't drafted until the fourth round! Look guys, I get it. Gut health can be a messy topic, but poop is a part of life, and it can tell you a lot about your health. Get the big job done with a clean handoff.

Troy Reeder, Linebacker – Los Angeles Rams

  1. Whey Protein Isolate – Chocolate: Supports muscle repair after injury or training*
  2. Beta Alanine-SR: Supports muscle output and endurance*
  3. Vitamin D-5,000: Supports healthy teeth, bones, muscles, and immune function*
  4. NiaCel® 400: Supports how your body handles its chronological age – helping you feel vibrant*

With 21 grams of protein per serving, Whey Protein will be looking to do a lot of the heavy lifting. But Beta Alanine-SR, ever the "tactical athlete," might have other ideas about how to lead this bootcamp... er, I mean... team. If Whey Protein can lean on Beta-Alanine for its cognitive know-how,* then there’s no telling what they can accomplish together this season.

Speaking of seasons, ‘tis the season for Vitamin D-5,000! However, it’s an odd pick for Troy, who resides in sunny Los Angeles. But maybe he knows something we don’t, if he consulted a top tier analyst like Thorne’s Vitamin D Test.

Finally, we have NiaCel 400. The way we talk about aging in football has always struck me as funny. But even at age 29, Troy is smart to be thinking about the effects of early aging. After all, the best defense is a good offense.

James Cook, Running Back – Buffalo Bills

  1. Multi-Vitamin Elite
    • AM Formula: Promotes energy production*
    • PM Formula: Enhances recovery*
  2. Magnesium Bisglycinate: Promotes restful sleep and muscle relaxation*
  3. FloraSport 20B: Supports gut health, immune function, and exercise recovery*
  4. RecoveryPro: Contains 13 grams of whey protein for promoting muscle repair*

Aw! It’s so sweet that James drafted the Multi-Vitamin Elite brothers, two complementary formulas, AM and PM. They may wear different colors, but AM and PM support each other, just like the Cooks do.

Next, we’ve got Magnesium Bisglycinate, a bestseller in the locker room and a mixologist in the offseason. Magnesium Bisglycinate makes a tasty nightcap – one that promotes exercise recovery.* As for FloraSport 20B, there’s no question this portable probiotic will get a lot of playing time on the road.

That brings me to RecoveryPro, a pick I have mixed feelings about. A blend that moderates stress, supports restful sleep, and optimizes nighttime muscle recovery,* this “Mr. Irrelevant” is anything but. Still, it’s the wrong move for James, considering the powder contains the ingredient magnesium bisglycinate. You know Dalvin will be giving him a hard time for this later!

Erin Andrews, Sportscaster

With all this supplement talk, I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun! Here’s my unofficial lineup:

  1. Basic Prenatal: Formulated to nourish mom and support fetal development*
  2. Omega-3 with CoQ10: Omega-3 fatty acids support heart and brain health*
  3. Daily Greens Plus: Comprehensive support for a healthy mind and body*
  4. Sleep +: Supports the natural hormonal activity that initiates sleep*

Basic Prenatal, the formula that turned me into a life-long Thorne fan, earns my top spot. Before taking it, I tested my baseline fertility levels. As I continued to test while taking the formula, they improved! I’m a firm believer that if not for Basic Prenatal, my eggs wouldn’t have been available for surrogacy.

My second pick has the hustle – Omega-3 with CoQ10, a fish oil supplement that promotes cardiovascular health.* Helping out on offense is Daily Greens Plus, (aka “the Cordarrelle Patterson of supplements”)! Formulated with 28 powerhouse ingredients that support healthy aging, cognition, and more, this powder helps me adapt to any role – sportscaster, podcaster, and mother.*

Snagging the final spot is Sleep +! If you’re like me, then you struggle with leaving work at work. (I just need an off switch!) But Thorne’s Sleep + is the next-best thing, helping me fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed for game day.*

And that concludes Thorne’s 2023 Supplement Draft! I’m Erin Andrews, and from all of us at Thorne, thank you and happy game day!
