Stress and Social Media Q&A with Travel Influencer Meghan Laurie

It’s fun to daydream about your next vacation, whether you scan travel listicles for a city’s hidden gems or scope out picturesque destinations on Instagram. If that sounds like you, chances are you’ve come across travel influencer and blogger, Meghan Laurie.
We recently caught up with Laurie, a Thorne partner, and ran through a quick Q&A on all things social media, stress, and nutritional supplements. Here’s what she had to say.
How did you become an influencer?
My path to becoming an influencer began seven years ago while I was working full-time. Influencing wasn’t as big a thing then, but I loved following people who showed off the beautiful places they traveled to. It inspired me to start traveling to unexpected places, and after experiencing how amazing it is to see new cultures, I knew I wanted to promote it to others as well.
What is your favorite health trend you’ve seen on social media?
My favorite health trend is taking your emotional and mental health just as seriously as your physical health. You can reach peak wellness when you also focus on these other important aspects.
The thing I dislike the most about traveling is being away from home so often, which makes it hard to nurture relationships as much as I want, so FOMO is very real for me. Stress is a big thing I’m working on, and one way is through Thorne’s nutritional supplements – which have helped immensely!
Speaking of stress, what are your favorite Thorne supplements?
My entire objective in life right now is to be my best self. So, I’ve recently started using Thorne’s Stress Management Bundle, and I’m really excited to work on this because I found that my cortisol level is high, and I think managing it better will really help me be more stress-free and happier overall.*
Gut health is a big area of focus for me as well because traveling can be really hard on your digestive system. I use EnteroMend®, L-Glutamine, Prebiotic +, Berberine, and Bacillus Coagulans to support my overall gut health.*
From getting my chronic stomach aches under control to feeling healthier overall, Thorne has made me feel so much happier and ready to take on the day.
You also took our Biological Age Health Panel. What did you learn from your results?
So, I took the Biological Age Health Panel last year, and I was surprised to learn that my body is slightly older than my actual age, even though I work really hard to eat healthy and take care of myself while traveling. My negative results were related to my cholesterol level, which really hits home because my dad recently had quadruple bypass surgery.
The test gave me some amazing insights into the areas I need to focus on. As I expected, stress was an issue, and it led me to working on that through meditation and journaling. It also suggested upping my exercise and I did, trying out a bunch of new exercise classes to see what I liked the most. As far as diet, it suggested a more Mediterranean diet, so I have started to incorporate that into my meals much more.
No one wants to think their body is older than their actual age (even in my case where my biological age was only slightly older), but you can’t improve your health without knowing where you stand. I can’t wait to take the test again to see how the lifestyle changes I’ve made have impacted my biological age! But I can say that I already feel better, which is a big step in the right direction toward a healthier, happier life.
What do you hope your followers take away from interacting with you and your content?
The best thing about traveling is getting to see different cultures because it helps you grow as a person and become the best version of yourself. I want my followers to see that the world is so much bigger than you can imagine. Our little bubble isn’t all that’s out there. There’s so much to learn and see around the world, and doing it will make you a more well-rounded, open-minded person.
And as for the content itself, influencing began as something I would do on the side while working full-time. So, I only want to work with brands that I believe in. Health is universal, so Thorne is the one brand I recommend to anyone and everyone in the entire world. Not just because of the effectiveness of their products, but because the brand as a whole is one that truly cares and wants to change lives for the better.
Thorne is thrilled to partner with Meghan Laurie and excited to bring you more health and wellness content. You can follow Meghan on Instagram here.
