I am a nurse practitioner who got tired of feeling like a waste of time. Working in conventional medicine felt like a revolving door of medications, follow up visits, and lack of patient improvement. After 3 years (and my own health battle) I decided to get out and do it a better way. Now, I straddle the line between conventional and functional medicine, avoiding the revolving door of medicine and follow ups AND the expensive testing and supplements often associated with functional medicine. I believe in treating patients as whole people, not like numbers (be they lab results or paychecks). I believe if we don't treat the whole person, we will never see optimized health outcomes.
