The video opens with a graphic logo lockup. UFC’s logo is on the left, Thorne’s logo is on the right, and the below text reads: Official Sports Performance Nutrition Partner of UFC. The video then goes on to establish the UFC Performance Institute, showing video triptychs of dumbbells, shots of the Institute, and UFC posters, before a shot of the institute’s entrance tracks left to show UFC fighter Jojo Calderwood entering the building.

It’s been really fun to watch Jojo’s you know personal and professional growth since she moved to Las Vegas. And she’s really just a good ambassador of the sport and of the professionalism that you know is required to be an elite UFC athlete.
Description
Quick cuts of Jojo training are interspersed with footage of a UFC fight. Lifting weights, throwing medicine balls, jumping with weights, and more workouts are shown, then the video cuts to drone footage and snappy b-roll of UFC Performance Institute exteriors. This cuts inside to the octagon and people training, and then to a shot identifying Clint Wattenberg, the UFC’s Director of Sports Nutrition, and the person who has been providing the voice over so far.

The UFC Performance Institute’s main objective is to personalize the approach to preparation for UFC Fights. Step one is identifying what is their nutritional status how consistent are they what is their lifestyle like? And that really crosses over to things like stress and how do you manage your environmental stress? How is your sleep influencing that? How is your vitamin D status — which actually a hormone and sets you up for imbalances in all other areas of your life if your vitamin d is low.
Description
Clint speaks in an interview setting for a few sentences, before the word Stress is illuminated in bold text above a Thorne stress test, while the video tints red. This effect is echoed with both Sleep and Vitamin D, the word in bold above the respective Thorne test kits and stylized, tinted blue and orange footage of training. As Clint stops talking, we see another identifying shot of Joanne “Jojo” Calderwood, the #6 Women’s Flyweight fighter, before cutting to her in interview.
Jojo Calderwood
With this sport it comes with a lot of pros and cons. It’s a very stressful job. Nutrition is number one. Whatever’s going on in your body is very important.
Description
We see a shot of Jojo in the weight room, taking a break momentarily to drink a Thorne supplement from a shaker bottle. This then cuts to a shot of the Institute’s nutrition bar, labeled as the “Fueling station, powered by Thorne.” We then see Clint scooping some protein powder into a Thorne shaker bottle for Jojo.
Clint Wattenberg
The Thorne partnership has been amazing. Over the last you know two years that we’ve been able to work with them really add to what we’re able to support our athletes with on the food and nutrition side. Our athletes are pushing themselves to and sometimes past the, the limits of their physiological capacity and you know supplementing micronutrients as well as ergogenic aids that really allow them to push their performance to the next level is really, really critical.
Description
Shots of Jojo doing weighted jumps outside transition to her looking exhausted, leaning against an interior exercise machine. This transitions to shots of a vast array of Thorne supplements, with Jojo and Clint choosing from among the selection.
Clint Wattenberg
Up until very recently we’ve had to just rely on the subjective experience of athletes when trying to understand really complex situations like stress. Thorne has developed some pretty revolutionary home test kits and what they allow is individuals to self-administer a test that um can identify a variety of different health and and illness states. So it might be a small finger prick, a salivary swab, but whatever it is this test based on whatever the individual is looking to identify can provide insights that’s going to guide them in their journey for health.
Description
Clint speaks in interview for a few sentences before cutting to dramatically lit closeups of the Thorne test kits. Intermixed with Jojo working out, we see her open a test kit, and begin to use to the components to collect her sample.
Clint Wattenberg
When an athlete like Jojo gets the Thorne home test kit get essentially gets sent and it’s got very basic instructions for the athlete to follow. And it walks them through step by step from the time they wake up on the test day, to the time that they finish. Once that testing regiment has been completed it gets packaged up, sent to the lab. The lab runs the analysis and then those results come to me and my team. Having the Thorne test kits really allows us to identify exactly precisely where an athlete is and where their needs are.
Description
More shots of Clint explaining in an interview setting are followed by over the shoulder shots of Clint looking up supplements on Thorne’s website, in his office in the Performance Institute’s Nutrition Consultation Suite. Jojo trains outside.
Jojo Calderwood
From the test I was obviously missing something.
Clint Wattenberg
Oh hey, Jojo
Jojo Calderwood
Hey, Clint.
Description
We see shots of Clint and Jojo interacting via technology, Clint on his computer and Jojo on her phone, before Jojo tells the story in an interview, intercut with shots of her at the fueling station and lifting dumbbells.
Jojo Calderwood
We started facetiming and we met every week with Clint explaining that and then adding that into my daily supplements my body’s getting what it needs and I can go on and perform even better than what I was.
Description
Across the screen we see paneled shots of wrapping gloves, shoes running, and UFC stairs. The camera pans down a list of Thorne supplied supplements and then intercuts between shots of Coco working out and shots of Thorne product bottles.
Clint Wattenberg
We have athletes from 80 countries around the world which is unbelievable. By having a partner like Thorne we’re able to support so many of these athletes that are low resource, don’t have access to third party tests and products.
Description
Drone footage of the Performance Institute transitions to shots of Jojo in the gym, lifting dumbbells, doing high knees, sprinting, and more.
Jojo Calderwood
UFC Performance Institute is so valuable for me. I feel like especially when I’m getting on in my age, these years mean a lot to me. You know I want to fight as much as I can. And the Performance Institute is just helping me stay healthy and stay in the right track to seeing out my goals.
Description
As soon as Jojo finishes speaking, the video cuts to an over the shoulder shot of Clint holding a stress test and a bottle of Catalyte, which transitions to Jojo training with jumping exercises. Clint continues talking in interview, intercut with shots of him looking at Thorne test-result panels on his computer.
Clint Wattenberg
And that is really what’s so amazing about these Thorne test kits is we get an insight into the biomarkers that represent stress within the body. All of the mechanisms for data collection are really safe really easy and manageable to do at home and the results come back fast and provide such great insights that can really influence your awareness of your own health that I would highly recommend them for anybody.
Description
In the final few shots of the video, Jojo talks to another trainer at the fueling station, while holding a Thorne shaker bottle. The video tints orange and Vitamin D appears in bold text above the image, reflecting earlier in the video. Jojo shadowboxes in the gym, before we see a triumphant, emotional shot of her right after winning a fight. The video ends with a shot of the Vitamin D Test, sitting propped up in a box, with the words “Discover what your body is missing” written on the inside cover. It then cuts to the UFC and Thorne logos from the opening shot, the words Official Sports Performance Nutrition Partner of UFC written below.
Jojo Calderwood
So when Clint told me that I just needed to add vitamin D in I was like, such a small thing but tiny little details make the difference. And he just gradually brought me back brought that energy that fire back it’s amazing what you can learn for one simple little test.
